At least the dog was in a crate, although not a good spot for a crate. We see dogs standing on the cross-bed toolboxes in backs of trucks while going down road or standing on a one ton flatbed truck bed. I have even seen a dog riding on top of a pickup roof going down the road. I was in the vets office recently getting Murphy stuff and a guy was picking up his dog that had lost a rear leg. After the guy left, the vet told me the dog had been riding in a truck bed and fell off as truck was in motion. He told the guy to not put the dog in a truck bed unrestrained and he said the guy commented that the dog would learn. Makes you want to put the guy on the toolbox and let him see if he can keep from falling out

Murphy rides inside the cab of our crewcab, that is one reason why we got a crewcab (we dont have kids or other passengers).
