Hospital Policy

As I sat on the hospital bed with an overnight bag on my lap the other day the nurse came in the room and asked if I was ready to go home. I replied that I was and then she instructed me to sit in the wheel chair. I told her that I can walk but she stated that it was hospital policy that I must be wheeled down to the lobby in a wheel chair so I compiled.

Once at the lobby she asked if my wife was picking me up and I replied, “no”. She looked puzzled then asked where my wife was, to which I replied that she was upstairs in the bathroom changing from the hospital gown to her street clothes.
