I can't believe we made it.

I did it and survived.

Gasp! That child drank from a green garden hose. What's the world coming to? Oh, wait, we are here.

I can't believe we made it.

My Son has a similar car seat without the wrap around the bar. It was bare metal .🤪

We rode on the parcel shelf under the rear window, or standing up in the middle of the front seat. When Dad got a station wagon we'd sit on the open tailgate while he drove down the street.

A good bicyclist could carry three other kids; one on the handlebars, one on the cross bar and one on the back fender - with no helmets!

I could go on.

Bet the bicycle tires were overloaded, should have a 2-corner weigh.

Been there done that, broken teeth and bones, scars to proof we graduated the school of hard knocks. We learned more played hard survived and became stronger and healthier than the kids today.

I remember sitting in the front seat of the car and when my mother braked she would put her arm out to keep me from hitting the dash. No seat belts at the time, much less car seats.

Also remember sitting on my grandfather's lap when he drove. That's where I learned to drive.

Yep
If I wasn’t back by the time the street lights were on my Mom could whistle LOUD!
All the kids recognized it!
I still have a great love of being “outside”
It’s a shame I won’t even drive through my old neighborhood even in daylight.
Thanks so much for the flashback ~

Jumping off the swing at the top of the arc.

Playing mumbly-peg at age 10

Jumping the bicycle

Throwing snowballs at cars

Street baseball with cars as bases (still have the scar on my hand shaped like chrome trim from that one)

the list goes on and on ......
