Yup, I remember carrying a pocket full of quarters to the pay phone when I needed to make a long-distance call.

I'm so old I remember headlights on our car painted black on the top half and an "A" sticker on the windshield.
Also remember my dad mixing gas and fuel oil so we could drive the car farther.

I'm so old, I can't remember what I was going to type.

O Yeah, now I remember. When I was about 6, we had a remote controlled TV. My dad would tell me to jump up and change the channel until he said stop. I guess that could be considered a voice activated TV.

I can remember my Dad taking our '36 Plymouth to the garage to have the oil changed and everything checked for a "long" round trip of 130 miles.

I am so old i went to one room school, had a hand crank phone mounted on wall and was potty trained in an outhouse and I wouldn’t trade it but would not want to go back to it . Difficult to get IRV2 uploaded to crank phone, my rv would be a covered wagon!

Our 1st phone had no dial and we were on an 8 party line. You had to tell the operator the number (ours was 245) or you could ask for the person by name.

The phone company installed a dial phone before we actually had dial tone. My first car was 39 Chevy my Grandfather gave me when I was 13. The motor had babbitt bearings and they were very easy to abuse.

I remember when my Dad bought a rotary antenna and the 3 stations were marked on the control box so you could easily locate them. We had a big old radio that we listened to all of the shows on before we got our 1st TV.

What about the wall phones the had a separate ear piece and had crank handle to ring the operator. Once she came on line. you told her who you wanted to call, not what phone number.
Or how gas pumps that had a large glass top on them. You used a pump to fill the jug with how much gas you wanted and then gravity fed the gas into your vehicle!
Yes I remember these and have used them many times.

Puts me in mind of Garth Brooks' first single-"Much Too Young To Feel This Damn Old".
