Now she is mad at ME!

Her :"Go to the corner market and get a carton of milk. If they have eggs, get six."
Him: On my way.

Her: "Why in the heck did you get SIX cartons of milk?!! "

Him: Well, they had eggs.

I have learned in 46 years that what she says might not be what she means. I always ask to make sure.

I get the one item requested. No more no less. If the brand is different, I don't buy it. Easy answer is the store didn't have any. Yes I asked. Never ever substitute!

After she complained about me leaving the toilet seat up I had to open my big mouth and tell her not to worry, that her behind was so wide that she couldn't fall in.

Just the other day we were in the grocery store and I saw a man standing at the ice cream freezer, door open, cell phone to his ear. I heard him clearly saying each flavor that was on the shelf in front of him. I turned to my wife, nodded toward the guy and said: "Now that's a man who's doing it right!" From experience I knew he was sent to get a particular flavor of ice cream and the store way out. Rather than make an executive - and WRONG decision to get an alternative, he made the call.

I've made the mistake of thinking X would be close enough to Y when the store is out of Y.

Never again.
