5 years ago we bought a 2001 Monaco Diplomat , so we adequately call her Gracie.
We waxed her with “Fast Wax” and made her look real good; We had a rear tire blow out and so replaced all the tires with new Michelins; We put solar panels on her roof , and added 4 more batteries to the house power; we added new back up cameras, 4 in total ; we added new roof vent covers; we resealed the roof using Heng’s rubber paint; we took out the old tv’s and put in flat screens, and behind the front tv we put in a wireless repeater so when we log into wireless it comes up as ‘Gracie’ and each of our devices log in to ‘Gracie. Recently Gracie refused to run while coming home from a stay at a local lake. We replaced the transmission tcu and now she runs like a top. We also replaced the rear power inlet with a relay switch so we don’t get power surges into our home. We also experienced the seat plug problem and so replaced wiring and protected it with that hose-like wiring protector.
So , while this is not a funny story , it is very satisfying to know that our
Gracie is so fun to be out and about with that we will continue to treat her with the greatest care. We do all repairs that we can without a mechanic and when servicing is due we also Do that, sometimes getting professional service.
Take care of your RV and you will always be happy, is our motto{•~•}
