Exactly. Leave it as you found it, lid closed. Maybe we should replace the full circle seat with the more institutional version with the open front and solve the problem once and for all.

The whole toilet seat issue has always been a mystery to me ....

I've heard the whole "you don't know what it's like so "fall in" when the seat is up" argument. That's BS ... fell in once when I was a kid and learned to check from there on out. One would think that if somebody was "splashing down" on a semi regular basis - they'd figure that out pretty quick.

Personally, I think the "normal" state of seat and lid is function of the household it sits in. My buddy lives with his wife and two daughters. At his house, DOWN is the "normal" state. I life with my wife and two sons. At my house, UP is the normal state. Households with even numbers of males and females get to figure out their own protocol on this.

Seat and lid stay down so the cat doesn't fall in.

Of course SEMINARS are for men. The equivalent for women should be OVULARS, but the male term is normally used.

A friend who had been twice divorced told me:

"The next time I am tempted to get married, I am going to just find some woman that I hate and give her my house."

A man walking along a beach was deep in prayer. All of a sudden, he said out loud, "Lord, grant me one wish."

The sunny sky clouded above his head and in a booming voice, and the Lord said, "Because you have tried to be faithful to me in all ways, I will grant you one wish."

The man said, "Build a bridge to Hawaii so I can drive over anytime I want."

The Lord said, "Your request is very materialistic. Think of the enormous challenges for that kind of undertaking. The supports required to reach the bottom of the Pacific! The concrete and steel it would take over thousands of miles! I can do it, but it is hard for me to justify your desire for worldly things. Take a little more time and think of another wish, a wish you think would honor and glorify me."

The man thought about it for a long time. Finally he said, "Lord, I wish that I could understand women."

The Lord replied, "You want two lanes or four lanes on that bridge!
