Started at Redondo Beach...then transfered to EL Segundo then transfered to Alamitos---worked Old Long Beach Plant during summer high peak times. Then went to Etiwanda and finally ended up out at Dagget Cool Water plant before early retirement due to 'Deregulation'

Moved plant to plant to be exposed to various plants and opportunity to advance from PEO to CO
B&W front fired boilers
Combustion Engineering Upside Down Fired Boilers
GE Gens/Westinghouse gens
F2 inline turbines, cross compound turbines
175MW, 335MW, 135MW peaking unit, Dual 135MW combined cycle with 125MW steamer

Nothing like fireing up a unit and ringing it out to it's MAX Load

The final say on whether or not there's a hot water heater is Old Biscuit. He's our expert on that.

Let's see here: we are talking a device that will increase the thermal energy level of water to some set upper limit.

We tend to apply names to things and people so we do not have speak like Tree Beard!!

I know we are all bored these days. I wonder how many examples folks can come up with names that are less than precise.

Don't confuse the issue:

Calling a water heater a "hot water heater" is not the dame thing as calling Walmart brand facial tissue "kleenex".

The latter example is a symptom of market dominance by a particular brand withing a category, whereas the former is an example of taking a product and inferring it has less capability than it really has.

The implication is that only hot water can be heated, when the truth is cold water is also heated.

There are other products that suffer this slight of their abilities, or just outright imply something that is not.

Example:

* a bathroom in the local Walmart. Ever try to take a bath in there?

* a house with a 1/2 bath. Again...no bathing possible.

* (name your entity) intelligence

* twin bed - only one of my kids fit in this bed

Ok that's the spirt, what a show.
Effective communications is frequently less than precise.

Does anyone understand my comment about names and Tree Beard?
