Spare tire Four Wind Windsport

I have a 2008 class A windsport with no spare. Called Thor and they told me they stoped installing spare tires in 2006. Asked MH repair shop and he said they stoped because there are two types of rims. Outside rims are aluminum and inside rear are steel. Which rim to put on spare caused them not to put any.

Do you have a spare and what rim do you have. Would you travel without a spare tire or have a tire only so the repair truck could just replace the flat.

We have a 2007 Hurricane and no spare. We do carry a spare tire in the toad when we travel long distances and to areas that have few major towns, like Canada and Alaska. During our short trips, which are either to major towns or close to them, I leave the spare tire in storage. So far, in 27,000 miles, we have been to Alaska and back and are halfway through a trip through central Canada to the Alantic coast we have not needed the spare tire. We have had one nail in a tire that we had fixed in Winnipeg and have one now on an inside rear. I have to pump a little air in it every 3-4 days and I check them every day that we travel.

i bought a used 4year old set of 2 tires and sold one on here. i used a ford pickup spare tire winch to pull it up under the back end . the rims are hard to find and too expensive.
