A friend is a magistrate in a probate court. He agrees. He said they routinely handle cases where people die with hundreds of thousands in debt and no estate to pay it off.
The banks and lenders jack up everyone's rates a bit to cover those cases.
He said to just have it structured correctly and you, too, can live like a king while dying a pauper.
Or, as the old joke goes, if you owe a bank $10,000 they'll take you to court. But if you owe them a million dollars they'll take you to lunch.
