You can't make this up!
A year and a half ago my buddy and I went on a driveabout in the White Mts. This particular route isn't that stout. An AWD Subie might make although it might lose a good bit of its running gear too. I've done it with the wife and she got out at a couple of the off camber parts. Anyway, we made over the top and we decided to take one of the two exit routes I haven't driven. It was really steep and there was one switchback my short bed F150 FX4 couldn't make without some jockeying! Then we got to the Narrows where clearance was an issue for me. For sure a Subie woulda been in deep doo-doo. Really rocky and tight! Imagine our amazement when we saw THIS! Somebody didn't double check his GPS! And he had to have seen that it got nothing but steeper ahead! I think he either broke his driveshaft or his drive wheels got wedged. Hoo, baby, I would kill to see that recovery bill! Had to have been at least $20K! We found out later that he was able to get his forklift off and drive it down to the pavement 7 miles.
