2010 Texas State Fair
I was wanting to know if anyone has gone to the state fair in Dallas Texas and stayed close by. I am looking for a RV park close to the fair .

I lived in DFW for 20 years....
Trust me....You don't want to stay anywhere near fair park (where the fairground is)
Not a nice neighborhood...
Here is a great place 30 miles north...
The Vineyards

I agree with Mythplaced. When we would go to the state fair, we'd take a shuttle from Carrollton, didnt even want to drive my car down there.
Check out online where the shuttle pickup points are, and choose a cg from those points.

Stay someplace else! The Cotton Bowl is in a VERY seedy neighborhood. We went with our son who lives in Dallas two years ago. I was surprised to find his vehcile was still there when we returned. And all the tires and hubcaps were there too!!!

I second the Vineyards. You need to make reservations as far ahead as possible as this place will be full most every weekend. BTW, downtown Grapevine is a fun place to visit also.

Yep, the State Fair is in a not very good area. DO NOT under any circumstances park on the street to save a few bucks on parking...if you have a car when you get back, it will probably be missing a few items. And Ford F250, especially 4 x 4s, are very desirable "exports" to Mexico.

This was pretty well "hashed out" last year....... A search on State Fair of Texas should be enlightening.

If you are going to the state fair , look at Plantation Place in Sunnyvale or drive from Treetops in Arlington. No matter where you stay, DO NOT DRIVE YOUR RV to the fair grounds. That would be like opening the bank vault and letting em take what they want,
