2022

Sooooo, what are the plans for 2022?

We got about 175 days & over 12,000 miles MD to West Coast loop this year.

Hoping to do plan A for 2021 as plan A for 2022. MD to Newfoundland. Hopefully the Canadian border will be open without too many covid restrictions next year. This would be a second trip to NL. It is about 10,000 miles worth.

No clue what plan B for 2022 is yet other than staying east of the Mississippi.

I have 3 months planned, have to finish my last 2 months plan for next fall.
The plan is 5 months in the RV but not continuous
Not sure how many miles, maybe 10-12,000
Might take some of summer off due to crowds and go out more in the fall.

We take several short trips. Only been out of state only once so far. Nothing like the epic trips you folks post here. We have three more short trips with sites booked before the end of the year.

Next year is going to be a little different. Our third grandchild is due in Feb. We will stay near home that month. We have a site reserved on the coast for March. We have trips planned to Europe in April and August that we hope to make but it all depends on COVID. We will try to squeeze in more trips in the travel trailer.

My cup runs over.

We will be in the desert SW for January through the end of March. No firm plans except two or three weeks with friends at Quartzsite and Kofa NWR. We will probably stay longer at both, then wander around southern CA - Death Valley, Joshua Tree, Mohave Preserve. An FMCA chapter rally and the Tucson international convention will be the marker to head gradually home. Mid-June we start on a Canada/Alaska trip where we won’t be home until late September. That’s the big one that year after cancelling in 2020 and 2021. We will probably have a week or two here and there with kids/grandkids between April and June.

The plan for June is from Lexington, Ky to San Diego for the Alfa Romeo Owners Club convention. Trailering one of the Alfa Spiders and driving some of the accessible parts of Route 66.

We have 4 1/2 months planned from mid December through April. It will take us from coast to coast. We finally decided to stick with heading west on I-20 because of the time of year I was not feeling I-40. The return trip will be on I-10 as we head home by way of Tallahassee.

We have discussed going to Canada in the summer. If we do will take a couple of months and visit New England. If we don't we will take an autumn trip up through Ky into Ohio and Indiana then head out tracing parts of Route 66 as we head to Santa Fe before heading home.

Our 2022 plans & dreams

We are relatively new to the RV experience, and Mark is still working so we've kept it to shorter long weekend trips so far, along with one fun week-long trip to Red River, New Mexico. We're planning a couple of long weekenders to the Ozarks in Arkansas, only about 3 hours away, one at the end of this month (I know, it's not 2022) and one the week after Christmas to DeGray State Park in Arkansas. Our 2022 big plan is a trip in June, out west and up into Alberta, which we're having great fun planning and figuring out. It will be about 3 weeks door to door, not sure of the mileage yet. We really get a kick out of getting the big Atlas and the GPS out and searching for stopover camps, interesting sights to see, etc. Tulsa,Wakeeney, KS,Ft. Collins, CO, Helena MT, Waterton Lakes, Alberta, reverse it to home. We've done this trip on our Ducati motorcycles, and loved it, so looking forward to RV-ing it.

We have a 22 day trip booked in April to down to Disney World (10 days @DW).

Also have our annual pre-Labor Day 2 week trip to Destin, FL booked @Topsail SP.

Those are the two biggies, will have many shorter trips to visit family around the country.

Assuming that the border will be open, we plan a month long trip to the maritime provinces. Been mire than 20 years since we visited before.

Current plan is to leave Memphis June first and head north to Duluth MN and from there head East until we get to Bar Harbor . From Bar Harbor to Myrtle Beach following the fall color. Christmas in Chattanooga area. Early 23 head south into Texas.

We are heading west in mid June from Ohio, hitting Mount Rushmore then Yellowstone then Idaho to visit friends, if everything is going well we’re going from Idaho to Vegas and take the southern route back to Ohio spending time in all the casinos with campgrounds we can find including our favorite WindStar World Casino in Oklahoma
