A-COE Texas Parks Opening

So, I've been checking daily to see when our favorite State Parks and Army COE parks open. Just yesterday the COE parks on Waco Lake were "Campground Closed until further notice." But today they are "Campgrounds open May 20"

Our favorite of the 3 COE Campgrounds there is Airport Park. Reservations are made on Recreation.gov. Since May 20th precedes Memorial Day Weekend everything was already booked. But our 3rd favorite site had a full week available for the Wednesday AFTER Memorial Day. So we booked 4-days.

This is our first booking since March when this whole mess started. We're a bit tentative about the whole thing and plan to be extra careful and the section we like has only 7 sites total and is right on the lake. The sites have LOTs or room between other campers.

Here's the photo of part of the site - It's a 90' paved back in site with shade trees and a view of the lake out the front window of the Class A:

Think they are finding out that it is not working to keep all the Parks Closed!

Not just in Texas but everywhere out West. Montana still is requiring 14 day quarantine to out of state Visitors and the Tetons will open the first week of June. Not sure how that will work out. -

Thank Goodness some States are getting the Message.

Pretty sure most of these places are getting used but without opening the Facilities - it is not going to be good as most Do Not Carry Out what the Carry in - Leaving a colossal mess.

Open the Parks and Just act responsibly,

JMHO,
