A nice state park in Delaware with bike trails and a lake
Getting colder in the tri state area, but we are still squeezing in a few more days of camping. Lum's Pond State Park is pretty close to Wilmington, Delaware, off 95. The park sites are huge, bathrooms are clean and there are some fun activities nearby. There is a small lake, perfect for kayaks. The walking trail is 6.5 miles around, not paved and several tree roots but a nice hike. And a few miles away is the Chesapeake Delaware canal, which has a paved bike path almost the entire length.
This park is worth putting on the list if you are headed south on I95 and need a break or just want a relaxing getaway with exercise options.
We also stayed at Cape Henlopen, sites are too small and tight IMHO. But we will probably try it again as it is right on the beach.
