Hi all. First post on this site but have been lurking awhile. We are thinking of staying at amicalola State Park in October. We are loking for a park with Mountain views from the sites as we will be at other lakeside locations during the month and want a change of scenery....but I have a concern with the access road.
We are towing a 31' Cougar with an F-350 PSD. Has anyone got any experience getting into that CG with the 25% grade?
We are from the NH mountains are are used to 13-15% grades, but this is about twice that!
Any info appreciated...thanks!

Welcome to the forum. Hope to have you share information with all of us on travels and RVing experiences.
We live within about an hour of there and have visited Amicoloa several times, but found the CG too steep to try with the MH. You must think about stopping the rig as you come 'down' the grade as well as just being able to go up.
We would not camp there. It is as steep if not steeper than Blackrock Mountain SP near Clayton, Ga on US441. *shudder*
OK for small rigs, but anything of size will have a difficult time.

I'm with Doc. I have tried Black Rock mountain and could not get into a sight even with my pop-up. Amicalola has a pretty good road but it is steep with tight turns and even if you did get to the CG in good order I think it would be tough to get that 31' 5er backed in somewhere.
