Antlers RV Campground Northern California

Hello Fellow RV'ers-
We are planning a family vacation next month and have our eyes on Antlers RV Campground at Lake Shasta. Surprised no reviews on this form. This is my go to and really appreciate feedback. Anyone recently try this space? Going to rent a boat and hope to have fun. Thoughts on this spot?

I know nothing about this camp ground. We always stay at Mountain Gate RV. Hope you find what you need. Happy travels.

If you go to Google maps to Lake Shasta and do a search for RV parks it comes up.

It has 129 reviews...average rating 4.2. Mostly good reviews.

We used to camp there all the time years ago with the kids. My wife and I went back there last August and other than things like the concrete pads and hookups showing their age it was still a good place to camp. Some sections are very tight depending on you rig, we were in out 39’ Seneca and if other campers had been in the sites on the way to our spot, we couldn’t have gotten by them. The loop with the sites in the 100’s are big and open. This was a last minute trip and we could only get site 37 which is a great secluded site overlooking the lake but did I mention it was tight

If you don’t have reservations at this point, it may be hard to get a site.

If anyone interested in my thoughts and review of Antlers. Here at the campsite now and here Is my experience:
1. Two tight for a 40 DP. Had to maneuver between two trees with all pathways too low and shrubs brushed against RV
2. My fault, said full hook ups. Didn’t notice it only has 30 AMP service. I’m still a newby but lesson learned. When it is 102 both AC’ s needed.
3. Back of my rig about 8 feet from back of neighbor rig. Too cramped

Bright side
1. People friendly
2. Lake warm
3. Pretty area
4. Great family time

Today is boat rental and I might have a different view then.
Ok, time for another sip of coffee :-)

I’m a little late responding. We boated on Lake Shasta for years. We usually stayed at Mountain Gate RV park or Premier RV Resort and drove up to Bridge Bay Marina. Those parks have 50 amp service. I stayed at Antler’s years ago and remember that the sites were all dirt. Is that still the case?
Glad that you got into your spot and did a review for us. You may want to check out Campgroundreviews.com. Have fun.

Ok, wrapping up the Antlers review. All spots are dirt. Found an upper level with 50AMP sites but all were reserved. Place is a dust bowl.
Yesterday was boat rental day. Went down at 8:00 am at opening time, rented tube and received boat orientation. People super nice, equipment fair looking but boat ran perfect all day. Water was great and as i stated before everything is beautiful. Spectacular day on the water. Previous day figured out how to just use one AC and monitored the AMP usage. On boat day left one AC for the dogs. Came back for lunch and all was great. Someone must has washed hands before we went back on the late. The Aqua Hot did its job however the AC and Aqua Hot both tripped breaker. Came back a 500 to find the RV scorching hot inside and the dogs overheating. Decided to pull up camp and head home.
Quick recap,
1. Dirt and Dust bowl
2. 30AMP service
3. Super Tight spots
4. Entry and Exit paths too tight for 40DP
5. Beautiful sites
6. Boat rental experience excellent
7. Water warm and smooth
8. Side not the tube rentals are minimal. ( one tube, small one, made for kids)
Never again for us but was a acceptable experience. Sorry for carrying on, just thought since nothing said on the site about it i would share.
