We are planning a trip to Disneyworld in May then over to the northwestern side of Florida. Need some ideas for some oceanfront campgrounds. Thanks!

Ho Hum Rv park on highway 98 about 4 miles east of Carrabelle is right on the Gulf with about a dozen sights right on the water. Nice beach about 15 feet from the front of your rig. Nice park run by nice people I spent 2 weeks there last year. Also some nice restraunts nearby.

Leaving from Disney if you go north you really don't have much selection of Gulf front, if you are looking for a beach, until you turn the "bend" heading west in the panhandle of FL.

North of Clearwater you have what we call the "Nature Coast" until you get to Carabelle.
The "Nature Coast" affords great fishing, but generally means low lying marsh type land that extends into the Guly of Mexico. If you are NOT looking for a "beach" you should check out Cedar Key, and Steinhatchee. At each location you will pretty much think you are in the late 1950's or VERY early 1960's. Great fishing, boat rentals and guides available, some good but very "earthy" restaurants.
If you have "specific" areas of interest let me know and I will do my best to find info. for you. Feel free to post or e-mail direct.

We have lived in the Orlando area since 1972 so if you need help there feel free to ask as well.

We hope you enjoy your stay in FL, and will visit us often. It has LOTS to offer the RV lifestyle.

Ever wonder why people post questions and then never seem to show any follow up as to the responses? Seems strange to me.

Sorry we have been out of the country for several days. That explains why we have not been online. We always respond to posts.

If you are referring to the Florida Panhandle there are two in the Destin area that I have seen someone on this site post about. I have not been to either one but from what I hear they are both good. One is Camping On The Gulf Holiday Travel Park 850-837-6334 and the other one is Topsail Hill 850-267-0299. They are located just east of Destin. If I can be of any other help please let me know.

Thanks Empty Nester...we were in the Panhandle last Fall at Navarre Beach State Park campground which was on the beach however Ivan totally destroyed it. We left there the day before Ivan hit. Too bad its gone because it was totally beautiful. Thanks for your information. Thanks to all on here for your posts as well.
