Any thoughts on Twin Lakes campground, Cumming, GA?

We are planning a trip mid Dec to the Cumming, Ga area to watch our granddaughter compete in a soccer tournament. We would love to stay at one of the COE campgrounds in the area but they are either closed for the season or booked up.

Any thoughts on the Twin Lakes Campground, Cumming, GA. They are going up on their rates in Nov 2018 to $45-50 a night. We just need a decent base camp.

Thanks!

Patrick

Hey Bosunmate! My wife and I travel full-time and Twin Lakes is a regular stop for us. Our daughter, husband and grand kids live in Cumming and we stay for the month of December, at least, and sometimes in the summer too. It's a great park, especially as a base-camp. There are a row of sites right on the pond; very nice, but only elec and water. Hit the dump station on the way out. Sites with hook-ups are tighter, and fill up fast. There are no amenities such as bath houses and showers; RV's only, I guess. It's a great park.

We're booked for December there this year - we'll look you up - LOL!!

Our son and his family live in Cumming, so we visit there quite often. In fact, we are here right now, but in a COE park. When we can't get into one of the COE parks, we stay at Twin Lakes. The sites near the lake are the best. The ones up on top of the hill are not quite as big, but still OK. Watch out for the speed bumps, though! They are way too big, and will rattle your rig even if you creep across them. There is one right where you have to turn to get to the waste dump, so it will rock you from side to side and knock things off your shelves. Other than that, it's a pretty nice park.

Thanks! We are still debating if we take the MH or just get a hotel for 2 nights. We live 200 miles away and only have the weekend free. I like to spend more time in the MH when we travel.

Thanks! Somehow I did not see this campground in my search. This is just the kind of campground we like and I reserved spot no. 28. It is a 40’ long paved back-in, waterfront view. I like that we can have a camp fire too.

The 30-40 minute drive to the soccer field on Sat and Sunday is just right.

Thanks again,

Patrick
