Isn't there Pismo Coast Village? Rates are quite steep but it is a nice campground located close to town. Make sure you go to" Splash" for clam chowder

the state park is nice, uncrowded, and cheap.

This place got a couple of great reviews. Not right on the beach but close; probably easier to get in too.

Stay at Pismo beach at least three times a year I prefer the state parks to Pismo coast Village. Oceano state beach has electric and water but no sewer they also have more spread out dry camping sites. North Beach state park is nice also. Pismo coast village is a nice full featured rv park but vary cramped with your neighbors campfire pit 2 or 3 feet from your slide out. Pismo beach is a great place though be sure and explore the sand dunes.

We have stayed at Pismo coast village 4 times and always had a great time. It's a clean, nicely laid out rv park. You can walk out to the beach to into town from the park. I would highly recommend it

We love Pismo Beach. You can read about our typical stay here:

We like North Beach for the wide open campsites, but we like to dry camp. If you need hookups, Pismo Coast Village is also walking distance to town and is very well maintained.
While there, Splashes is great for clam chowder, and we also love the fish and chips at Brads next door. Also, don't forget Old West Cinnamon Rolls! Also, if you want to try something different, the Great American Melodrama always has a fun musical melodrama.
Have a great time at Pismo!

We arrived last night at Pismo Coast Village and the first spot they were going to put us in was small and crowded with a real tight fit. The neighbors were also smokers and since we have tent ends on our trailer that wasn't going to work. When I went up to where we originally checked in the young lady at the desk was very helpful and we are now in one of the larger sites they have. More room on the sides and yes the neighbors fire pit is right outside our daughters end but they we done by quite time at 10. We will see how the rest of the week goes
