Anyone caught in the wind around MOAB?

Looking at moving 25' trailer from Las Vegas NV to Huntington UT for some service next week and back, possibly running to Arches NP and Canyonlands NP afterwards but see on RV Life Weather layer 25 mph winds out of Vegas and 45-75 mph winds at NPs. Anyone traveling this route or just holed up? Where are some good places to stay put. Or should we just skip it and stay in Vegas? Sorry, but we're not used to windy weather. Thanks in advance.

That is fairly common at this time of year. We have driven through it twice in the past 10 years in early-mid Oct. but in a Class A not towing a trailer.

Wind can suck at times. We did a trip to TN and back last month from Oregon. We had NW winds from Oregon all the way across Nebraska. Steady at 25 with gusts over 40. Even had some snow in Wyoming. We are driving a 40 ft Class A pulling our car. It was work, but by slowing down, it was not any worse for us then the commercial trucks.

Sitting on the patio in St George at 7:00 Saturday evening. Has’t been much more than a breeze all day.

There is a great app called “Windy”. It is exactly what it’s name implies - a display of current and forecast wind speeds. The Pro version includes all kinds of extra layers too, but just the basic is a great addition to your planning toolkit. Note there is the basic wind display and another display for wind gusts. Look at both.
