There's a real dearth of campgrounds around Charleston, WV. Just need an overnight? There's a couple of Walmart's in the area that permit overnights. The only campground I could find is Lazy Ks in Elkville (NE of downtown).
Sadly, Oak Plantation, which is pretty nice, is in South Carolina.

We stayed at the walmart in Quincy WV last year. It is pretty close to Charleston. Very rv friendly. Parked along the curb on the left as you pull into parking lot. Very flat and level parking lot. We will be there again the end of Sept for one night.

Anyone know a campground in or near Charleston West Virginia?
Rippling Waters Church of God Campground is about 20 miles north of Charleston, just off I-77. I’ve never been there, but their web site looks pretty nice. They have 27 full hook-up sites.
Phone there is 304-988-2607.

X2 on Rippling Waters being the closest. We've been there. I usually have photos in my albums but for some reason don't for this little park. Small, Christian campground. You'll probably get one of the pull thrus in the front. The back is mostly for the folks working the fracking lines.
Follow the signs off the interstate & keep going, even though you think you're way back in nowhere....which you actually are.

There is great need for a sarcasm font.
