Looking for a campground close to downtown for an overnight - really just want to stop, have a good meal and wander downtown, and head out the next day. Towing the Cyclone, so needs to be able to fit a big trailer. Thanks!

KOA campground in Swannanoa between Black Mountain and Swannanoa which is about 10 miles east of Asheville off highway US 70. I don't think there is anything closer that could fit the trailer you describe but not positive. Safe travels....

We stayed at Bear Creek which is conveniently located at the junction of I40 and I26. Easy/short trip to town. Our site was more than adequate for our 37ft MH and toad that we had then. Next week we will try Mama Gerties after we have our service done at Freightliner in Gaffney

We stayed at Bear Creek last year in a 38ft 5er. Was on top which was adequate but the top is a little more sloping. Not extreme though. There are pull through down on the lower side. VERY easy to get around from there. Downtown, Biltmore, etc.

We stayed at Campfire Lodgings once and it was a really nice place. Only 8 miles from Asheville.

You could also check Mama Gertie's in Swannanoa. It is up on the side of a mountain and the access is very steep. However, the views are great.

X2 on Campfire Lodgings that place is really nice but just for the night I would stay else where because you won't want to leave CL....
