My son was a law enforcement ranger there 2 years ago and we stayed site 25 which is directly on the dunes in between the site and the ocean. #24 is just across the road (maybe 50 feet further from the ocean). No hookups and set generator hours.
Watch the weather as the Superintendent just released info the the entire off highway vehicle is under water due to high tides and hurricane Teddy.
Drive slow, do not leave your food out, and DO NOT approach close to the wild horses - you WILL get a ticket. I doubt you'll be in the water but rip tides are common and deadly. My son dealt with 2 or 3 fatalities that summer from rip tide drownings.
