Avoid - Wright's Beach in Penticton, BC

This RV park is beautifully situated right on the lake in Penticton, British Columbia. WE were able to park our motorhome right on the beach and the site was beautiful.

However, I wonder if they are between experienced managers as we and another couple were there the past 3 days, and it is obviously beyond their high season, and not being properly managed.

The washrooms and laundry rooms were filthy; there was horse poop all over the grounds, but the most serious problem was that the current manager has two pit bulls which he allows to roam free, unleashed.

Two days ago, our friend was walking his 70 pound lab on a leash and one of the manager's two pit bulls attacked the leashed lab, grabbing it by the neck. Our friend managed to kick the pit bull until it released his dog, when the owner/manager came running out to call off the pit bull. The manager's wife later approached them to apologize for the attack, but the dog could have been killed.

The next day, we saw a family with two small children playing right in the same area where the attack occurred.

Later that day, we saw both pit bulls playing in that area, again unleashed.

This is a campground recommended by AAA and welcomes children and pets.

Does anyone know how an AAA member might report this incident to AAA or CAA? They should NOT be recommending this campground. We would also like to bring this incident to the attention of other such services. I tried to find a member feedback form on the AAA website, but could not.

Down on the bottom of their website, did they have a contact us option? Maybe a phone number. You might be able to call their customer service and ask them. I would post this review on every site you possible could. I think RV.net has one too. Also, the local authorities where this CG is located. Most places have a leash law and if Animal Control knows of the situation, may investigate.
