Bad review
Hello all Im camping in MT Michigan at Soaring Eagle Hideaway RV Park. We are camping with a group of RVer's. We all arrived on Thursday. The hole campground is running into power issues. They are have low voltage issues, no running AC. When you talk with park about the issue they blame the local power company and are unwilling to to do anything about it. A lot of us are running our generators to keep our RV cool till the demand for electricity is lower. We also found out this has been a on going issue. We paid over 70 per night (discount rate for large group). This is unacceptable. If it is going to be hot stay a way from this campground.

Did you read any reviews on the park before reserving?
This is from CampgroundReviews.com
"Decent campground with fairly roomy sites. Campground isn't very old but is starting to look a little rough around the edges. Othwerwise a very servicable if not pricey place to camp. Despite this I had to checkout after only a couple of days. The park has a chronic low voltage problem that the regulars tell me has been going on for years. On warm days voltage dips to levels that can cause damage to electronic equipment and appliances. Today is in the high 80's and the increased electric demands has the power down to 98 volts (versus 120v) since noon. I'd strongly recomend against using this park unless youve got a good Surge Protector with an inbuilt Electric Management System to protect electronics and appliances. We camped at Soaring Eagle Hideaway RV Park in a Motorhome."

The benefit of a house on wheels. Move! Why is the group staying and risking severe damage and costly repairs, it makes zero sense to me.

In hot weather, most of the older campgrounds have power issues. The power distribution systems were not designed for the demand from so many larger rigs and the demand for two or three A/C units. The simple solution is to move on.
We have a Hughes AutoFormer to boost the voltage in low voltage situations. Right now we are using it as our power is running down near the lower limit and it will automatically boost the voltage 10% once it drops to s preset level.

Thanks for the heads-up. I may not have seen other reviews of this park, but I did see yours, so I'm warned. And, moving a large group RV'ing together may not be as easy or convenient as some think.

I agree with you 100% on older CG's. But I'm not willing to give one that charges $70 (or more) a pass.

I would ask for a refund and then move on down the road. You could have parked at a big box store and had the same features for free.

You should have been at West Glacier KOA early July.
The KOA campground of the year in 2019
I paid $130 a night for 106 volts.
Terrible. Never again.
