Last Wednesday the DW and I loaded the UA, hooked up the sidekick (what a great name for a toad) and headed to Bend. The UA drove great and handled the Cascades with ease. There was no snow on the roads but a few icy shaded areas were found but no problem.
We stayed at Crown Villa Resort, yes it's open for the '07 season. There weren't many folks there but that's ok. Everything was in working order at our site despite the freezing temps at night, in the teens.
Bend was having it's annual Winterfest downtown which is why we choose this weekend to go. There was some amazing ice scuplturing taking place. How do they do that? There was a tent with live music, a tent for childrens entertainment, and a tent for beer and wine tasting along with some vendor boths for all kinds of things (mostly local artist). They actually had to truck in snow from the mountains for the snowboard and skiing demonstrations held there. It was a great time.
We left on Sunday morning a travelled back over the mountains to the coast with out any problems.
The UA worked great. There were a couple of things that took a while to figure out. The coach batteries weren't charging - found charger turned off- turned it on and batteries charged. Kitchen sink sprayer was leaking - new sprayer fixed that. The ice maker was not making ice - looked and looked finally turned on water filter valve under sink and I got ice. There are a couple of things I will discuss with the dealer but all in all we are very happy with our new coach.
Bend is a great place to visit anytime of year.

I had planned on taking lots of photos; leaving the coast, traveling through the Cascades, parked in Bend but.....I forgot the camera.
We are planning on driving up to Cannon Beach for a Valentine get away next weekend, I'll remember the camera.

You should never tell MM that you forgot the camera. Heaven Forbid!!! It should be glued to the palm of your hand like hers is.
