Best Resort/campground on the east coast?

We are undecided on where to go this summer on vacation..... I was wondering where you have been and where you thought was the "nicest place you had ever been" ?I like being on the Ocean, not really to big into "family" type campgrounds(kids being kids) So.....what is your best kept secret (time to let it out of the bag) on the east coast(Tennessee & Kentucky to the east and Maine to Florida) for a vacation? Or on a lake, large water pond....etc. I just like being near the water(fishing a plus)
Post a link if you can......

Not sure where you are or where you're going but Lake Anna is a nice lake fairly close to I 95 in Virginia. Nice state park and private campground also with lake access. If not a destination then definitely worth stopping at again depending on where you are and where you are going. Myrtle Beach has much to do and nice beaches. Lake. Norman outside of Charlotte NC is right off I 77. Beautiful lake and decent RV resort. Cherrystone in southern Md on 13 and Virginia beach both are nice places. Hope this helps

Glad I could help out. One other nice place I thought of is the luray, va KOA. Nice place with beautiful views of mountains from most of the sites. Happy Travels!

Take a look at Virginia Beach RV Resort in Sandbridge VA. Previously was an Outdoor Resorts of America and has 2 pools and a block from the beautiful beach. Right by a nature area. We really liked it http://www.outdoor-resorts.com/vb/index.php

A superb and drop-dead-gorgeous place with much to do, and an Amish smorgasbord just down the way.

In Southeastern PA, Lancaster County.

Lake George RV Park is very nice. Large campground with lots of amenities and close to a lot of outlets, the lake, restaurants, and theme parks. Hilton Head Motorcoach Resort is very high end and close to beaches and bicycle paths. Fisherman's State Park in Rhode Island is a great destination and fairly close to Newport. Lastly, Bar Harbor Maine is a great destination. Many reasonably priced rv parks close in and around Acadia Park.

Coastal GA RV Resort - Welcome Home

Reasonable prices and close to the beaches and history. Check out the area attractions listed on their website.
