Boondocking Mark Twain Nat'l Forest-Ozarks?

Thinking about a trip to the Ozarks in October, never been there to camp, don't really want to camp in a crowded campground, anyone ever boondocked/dispersed camped in one of those areas? I can research it, just need a place to start, if it's even feasible.

As Mart Twain Nation Forest is broken up into eight separate groups I think you may get more help by at least giving an idea of where you would like to go.

I believe around the Branson area it would be hard to find a "boondocking" type of site.
Good Luck
