You are correct about very few spots. There is a nice spot just off i-17 turn north on the road that goes to Cordes Junction. still a little close to the freeway. My favorite spot is about 2 miles in on the left side. Nothing much past that spot that I could find. You are brave to be camping there, not too hot? I have been hanging out near Munds park. Tons of trails to explore and 7000'. Thanks for the thread revival. Starting in October I will be splitting my time between Rocky point and Augua Fria.

Another thread revival for boondockers. I found this spot last month west of Lake Pleasant northwest of Phx. I always wanted to find a cliff to drop my deck over, and this is perfect, with good OHV riding, too.

Neat setup. Do you have the umbrella tied down. Small gust of wind could be the death of it.

Yes Tg, if I do more of this I plan to get a fencing set up for the deck perimeter.

Thanks Gordon. The umbrella is on a heavy stand, but yeah I should tie it down also. But I don't deploy if its too windy. The new Outlaws have a awning attached to the back end to cover the deck. They also come with a perimeter deck fence. But I'm afraid a new unit is not in my near future.

Yeah RVGuy it does look ominously close to the cliff edge in those photos. But the edge of the deck is about 22 feet from the back tires. Here's a photo of my back tires, and they are about 11 feet from the edge.

After reading all of the winterizing posts, I thought it was time for me to start getting out again. It was just too hot this summer and only took 1 trip yo Mingus Mt.. Not much to do up there. Hang glider launch pad at 7800'. You have got to be kidding!!!
