Going up to Bryce after the Albuquerque Balloon Fest. Any experience being there in mid-to late October? What sort of weather should we expect? Which campground would be best suited to our rig? Thanks for any info.

Can't tell you much about the weather as we were at Bryce during the summer.
As for campgrounds, we thought Ruby's Inn, right before the park entrance, was a zoo and very crowded and noisy. We ended up staying at the Red Canyon RV Park that is more towards Panguitch near the intersection of Rt. 12 and Rt. 89. It is bare bones and a little out of the way, but very quiet even in the summer when we were there.

Craig,
Take a look at this link for Bryce weather.
Ruby's Inn is the closest CG and I doubt it will be too busy at that time of year.

Depending what you want, here are two campgrounds we have stayed at and would recommend.
North Campground Bryce Canyon in the park
Kodachrome State Park
Both of these would be very quiet I'm sure.
Enjoy!!

Maybe Sacs will chime in here also to give his opinion...but we stayed at Ruby's the first part of October when we were there I believe. I am going to say that it was at the start of "off-season". It was not that crowded-and it seems like it wasn't that noisy - but then...we were not at the RV park much during the day either.
I can tell you to have a jacket or something warm in the toad as you travel up to different spots for sightseeing. The wind chill factor seemed to be a bit much at some spots.
No matter what - it is a place you must see. I truly enjoyed and was amazed at the views of this magnificent place!
