Busch Gardens Tampa Bay Area

We'll be going to the Winter Quarters Pasco RV Resort on April 26 and will stay for a week. We have tickets to Busch Gardens and will probably go there either Monday or Tuesday of the following week.
Last time we were at Busch Gardens, 20 years ago, the folks we were with only wanted to do the rides. This time it's just the two of us and the wife is more interested in the animals and maybe catch a show or two.
Any insight about what to do while at the park would be great.
Also any ideas about other places to go while we're in the area.

You can go to Tarpon Springs, 45 minutes, it a a beautiful greek type town, best natural sponges anywhere and great food. Also Crystal river, 90 minutes north you can swim with Manatees. Get to St. Pete, gorgeous city, the best Dali museum in the world.

Lots to do here, do a google search or trip advisor.
Channel side, Ybor City, Clearwater beaches, dinner at Burns, deep sea fishing, take a walk or ride bikes on bay walk, take in a hokey game, etc, etc.

While you're in the area, the Yuengling brewery tour is very interesting.
