By the Lake

We have stopped at By the Lake RV park just south of Ardmore, OK as an overnighter several times. It is about 4 hrs south of us so it is a good first and last night stop when traveling N-S. This last summer, though, we stayed for several nights to see what was in the area. This park has all pull-throughs and concrete pads so it is a nice place to stay.

In the area is Lake Murray, which is a very nice OK state park. The restaurant is on the lake with outside dining overlooking the lake. The food was very good.

Up I35 a few miles are the arbuckle mountains. This is the Great Plains, folks. It don't have take much of a hill to be called a mountain. Never the less, the Arbuckke wildlife park is there, Turner Falls recreation area and some pretty drives and hikes are available. If you like fried pies, you'll find several places to sample them.

It was.worth the long weekend and the drive.

As we get to know our new motorhome, we'll be traveling farther out from home. I've been collecting places and yours sounds great. Made the list! Thanks!

Great area to see. I grew up in Oklahoma and have been to all those places. Lake Murray was a favorite of mine to water ski on.
