We have a Camperworld membership. We are current with our dues, but have not paid the $800 assessment (and don't intend to). It appears certain persons have been making millions off what is essentially a ponzi scheme and now the members are being asked to kick in an assessment fee to pay down debt and keep the organization "viable". However, reading everything we could find leaves us confused and definitely not happy with the trust. There are so many contradicting stories being reported that it's hard to know what exactly is the situation and who is responsible for what. We're keeping an eye out for the class action suit that is sure to come as the Utah Attorney General's Office, Criminal Division, is apparently investigating Camperworld. At least that's what one news agency reported.

I called the State Attorney's office, left a message and no return call since last Tuesday. I have a signed contract that states no assessments and frozen maint./dues fees for life. Can't wait for the continuing drama on Weds afternoon. I did not pay assessment fees either and don't tend to as it might void my March 2003 contract.

So, a good friend of mine showed me a letter she received from Camperworld....it started with "delinquent" which has never been the case with her. What happened that caused such a mismanagement of funds? She tells me the parks are great. How did this happen??
Paying an extra $850 to bail out the Camperworld company is ridiculous.
I would love to hear other situations, or recommendations on this.

We have heard NOTHING good about them here in Utah. There way to many places to RV here in Utah and nice campgrounds to consider joining them.
