Campground filed bankruptcy

I received a letter that a campground I have reservations for has filed for bankruptcy. Their website is still going strong and I cannot find that anyone else (except one post on Reddit) has said anything about it.
I'm hoping that this doesn't disrupt my summer plans, which I am able to fix. I'm equally sad for the campground, especially since RVing has increased so much these last few years.
Should I start looking for alternative campgrounds/routes/plans? TIA

If you gave them a deposit you may lose it.

agree but at the same time I'd be at least researching a Plan B. my concern would be a shuttering of the park during my stay.

There were no other details in the letter beyond stating they were filing for bankruptcy? Are they closing? Is there a date? For sure, call them. For sure, make alternative reservations if they don't answer. Either way, you're going to be out some money, but probably less so if the reservation you end up cancelling is the backup one.

Bankruptcies' don't necessarily end in closures. Unless the place is a total dump needing new sewer and electric I can't see a CG closing in this market.

Filing for bankruptcy, in and of itself, is not a disaster. Many businesses take advantage of the financial regulations to resolve problems and get a new start.

Doesn't necessarily mean the business is going to close, but as others have suggested, it may be a good time to hedge your bets if you don't want your vacation disrupted.

You need to find out which kind of bankruptcy it is: 7, Liquidation, 13, reorganization (also gets the creditors to stop calling) or 11, which is personal, i.e. are the owners in financial trouble but are sole proprietors and the CGs income is all in their name. If it's 7, get in line and hope. The other two - maybe it's not a major problem (but might become one).

In any case, a quick call or an on line search could lighten your anguish

St. Mary KOA in East Glacier?

Not out of business, just a pre-emptive move in a local tax dispute with landlord, they say it is now resolved, but they were never canceling reservations.

Follow-up email

I emailed the campground and asked about the letter. Their reply:

"Yes, that letter was from our attorney! We were in a unexpected lease dispute with ***** as we prepared to open this season. When you run a business and this dispute has the potential of affecting your guest you are required by the courts to alert your guest of possible issues.
Thankfully 10 days ago we took them to Federal Court and won so we are officially open for the season and your reservation is good to go.
Thank you for checking in instead of just cancelling. We look forward to seeing you...!"

I have tried to call their office before, but have better communication with them via email. Whew! I feel better now that I don't have to look for a back-up option! Thanks for your help!
