Campground near Allen, Texas
My wife and I are traveling alone from Mesa AZ to our home in IL. We are going by way of Allen, TX, where my wife's 83-year-old brother is in hospice care. This will (obviously) be the last time my wife will see him. We are attempting to locate a campground near Allen for a one or possibly two-night stay (Sat. and possibly Sun. 6-18 and 6-19 2022). We have so far only been able to locate a campground in Princeton, TX, but the woman with the campground my wife spoke with on the phone was "not sure if they had a campsite for one night or not." (?!) Furthermore, she claimed that, if she had a site that "regulations" required her to do a criminal background check on my wife and me, and that she would require a photo of our 2015 Forest River Sunseeker 32 ft. class C motorhome, in addition to a photo of our pet (!) (we do not own a pet). She said she would have required even more information from us, but we decided to look elsewhere. We are presently in a campground in Odessa, TX. Can anyone suggest a campground near Allen where we could camp for one or two nights? Thank you.

You are kind of in the middle of the big city. The DFW area really encompasses a large area now.
I would suggest Texas State Parks, but weekends can be difficult to get a site. Cooper State Park and Lake Ray Roberts are not too far from Allen to Texans who are used to driving long distances. Lake Ray Roberts seems to have vacancies more often than most of the other state parks close to the DFW area. Not sure about Lake Tawakoni State Park.

Here's a listing of the RV parks and campgrounds around Allen. The ones closer to the lakes are the ones most likely to book up first. It's not real close to Allen, but The Vineyards in Grapevine is an excellent park.

Looking at the options, Shady Creek in Aubrey off 380 would probably be your best bet for an overnight/2 day stay (if they have a site).
Just be aware 380 is pretty much all traffic lights from I35 to McKinney. Go north on I35 to the 288 loop to get around Denton (do the north loop, not the south one).
Hopefully you are towing and won't have to take the MH into the Metromess proper. If so, be aware a number of the major roads are toll roads that will bill by plate if you don't have a TXTag.

The Vineyards is on our top five RV parks around the country. Very nice and they don't require criminal background checks....

Not sure if it is close enough, but we have stayed several times at Shady Creek RV park just west of Prosper, TX. That would be north of Allen on the North Dallas Tollroad. It's a nice park and they have always been helpful in finding us a spot.

Nope.
I stay away from rv parks that do criminal background checks and motels that rent rooms by the hour. Lol

The Vineyards...if you can get in...
I would suggest you call the office and explain your situation, and ask if they have anything in the overflow area. Back in 2017 we were there while I was working on a job in the area. The lake flooded and they moved us over to overflow for temporary measures...but "temporary" turned into weeks. They are good folks and they might work with you. The down side is that it is a bit of a drive to Allen from The Vineyards using toll roads.

There’s a very nice looking new RV park near Anna, TX. It’s just north of McKinney, which is next to Allen. The park is a couple of miles west of US Highway 75. Here’s a link:
https://www.sugarhillrv.com/
I’ve never stayed there, have only driven by. Looks nice. I have no affiliation with this property or the owners.
