Red Mountain State Park. About 30 miles North of Atlanta. Well run and open year around with 30 and 50 amp hookups. There are also many COE campgrounds in that same area open seasonally but I’ve not experienced them.

I have a 39’ fifth wheel. State parks aren’t very big rig friendly.

The COE campgrounds around Lake Lanier near Atlanta are well equipped to handle your 39' fifth wheel. Although not all their sites are long enough, there are many that are. However, you have to make your reservations well in advance to be able to get one booked for the time period you want. There is a 14 day maximum stay at a COE campground, but there are several in the area, so if you are planning a longer stay, you can move from one campground to another (providing you make reservations early enough to secure a site that can fit your rig). For an August stay, you should be booking now, if the prime sites haven't already been taken.

We stayed at Atlanta South RV park several years ago. Seemed nice enough for us.

Red Top Mountain has six large pull through campsites.

We used Stone Mountain in June 2018, and our rig is a 45 foot tri-axle toy hauler. Sorry can't remember what site, but it was big enough that we had our rear patio and side patio down.

Stone Mtn is the closest campground to Atlanta, but if you don't have to be so close to Atlanta, you might take a look at Margaritaville on Lake Lanier. It is about 35 miles outside the Perimeter (I-285) on the northeast side of town.

Regards.

There are several COE campgrounds on Lake Allatoona in the Acworth area. We have stayed at the McKinney campground twice. Nice quiet place on the lake. https://www.sam.usace.army.mil/Missi...-Lake/Camping/
