I have searched all over the internet and in my campground books and I can't find a campground near Rockville Maryland. It's only about 15 miles to Northern VA so if you know of any campgrounds near either places, please let me know. I'd very much appreciate it. Thanks!

Even if you don't know of any campgrounds in that area, do you have any suggestions on where I might find a listing that I haven't tried? I checked all over the internet, the Trailer Life directory and in our CG forum here.
Do you think because it's near Washington DC, people don't camp?

There is a KOA in that area. I've never been, but have heard it isn't too bad. Try this link and see if it is any help.

Hey 020202,
I don't know what your plans are or why your going to Rockville MD, but since you mentioned in your second post, about close to Washington DC. I looked up Cherry Hill Park in College Park MD, and according to google map it is only 18.1 miles (about 25 min. drive) from that campground to the center of Rockville MD. Hope this helps some, and enjoy the trip !!

You might also want to check Frederick, MD. It's 10-15 miles north of Rockville. Rockville is pretty much city, so there's not going to be anything right in town. Going north, you might find something in Gaithersburg, but I think Frederick is more likely. Easy access on I-280.

Candy Hill Campground is in winchester,Va. Not sure if this is close to what you are looking for but I spent 7 months there while doing a job in Ashburn, Va and they were great. Doug

The closest campground in Maryland to Rockville would be Ramblin' Pines in Woodbine. It is a fair campground and does handle extanted stays when possible. They do restrict some types of dogs, so if you have a dog, ask about it. It is about 45 - 60 minutes away from downtown Rockville. Take MD rt97 south to Md rt28 west. There are other back roads into the northern part of Rockville. Rockville is the second largest city in Maryland and you didn't say which part you are going to. You didn't say how long of a stay you are looking to do.
If you stay in North VA, you will have to fight the rush hour traffic on the Washington Beltway (I495). The rush hour starts at one minutes after midnight on Sunday and ends at 11:59 Pm on Saturday.

That is SO true, isn't it?
We've decided to stay with friends for a few days. My husband is a painting contractor and got a big bid for some new townhouses in MD. Rather than making the trek from here to there IN ALL THAT TRAFFIC we thought we'd stay down there near by. It looks like nothing is going to avoid that traffic.
Thanks so much for all the info.
