Campground near Pasadena,CA
Hi,
We are thinking of going to Rose Parade maybe next year and was wondering if there are any campgrounds nearby?
Thanks.

Tom, we've been thinking about doing the same thing. One possibility can be the WIT club. They have had a trip there which we are considering. They seem(have to do more research to k ow for sure) to provide camping site, transportation, tickets etc. Would be no brain damage for first trip. Lynn

There are some other RV professional tour groups, unaffiliated with any RV brand, that do the Rose Parade as well.

There aren't any real close. When this has been posted previously people have suggested the KOA in Pomona, Valencia Travel Village in Valencia, Walnut RV in Northridge, Birmingham (older park) in Van Nuys. You can park on the street in Pasadena starting a couple of days before the parade, you can contact the city of Pasadena for info on that. Los Angeles metro area is not rv friendly and the rv parks are few & far between

Take a look at East Shore RV Park, San Dimas, CA. It is located about 15 or 20 miles east of Pasadena. Large sites with grass, pool, FHU.

This would be your best bet other than going with a tour group.

EZDZIT and Don 2346, thanks for the info on camping sites. That will be part of my research.
Driving LA area in a car is intimidating never mind an RV! Will have to figure out all the details.
Will also look into different tour groups and see what they offer. Thought that a tour would be a good choice for the first time. They have all the details figured out. No need to reinvent the wheel! Lynn

Patti, good suggestion about other tour groups. Just beginning this RV life. Lots to learn and I can get tunnel vision. So I'm happy for any suggestions, Lynn

We have caravanned with Adventure Caravans several times, including trips to Mexico, and the Calgary Stampede. They have always treated us right. As a matter of fact, we are signed up with them now for a trip in September.
If you want to actually see the Rose Parade you really need grandstand seats unless you want to campout on a sidewalk all night the night before. The tour companies provide grandstand seats and tour bus transportation with reserved parking near your seats. They also typically arrange for tour bus or car pool day trips around the Pasadena-LA area.

Will look up Adventure Caravans. Always like to hear referrals. The trips that you have taken are ones that we are considering.
Absolutely need to have more fun! Thanks Fred. See you down the road, Lynn

We've been to the parade twice but not in our RV. We stayed in a motel right on the parade route and sat in bleachers next to the motel.
The real fun is the night before the parade when everybody is camped out on the street. It's an event worth going to.
Whatever you do you need to reserve NOW.

We are a small rustic campground just above the city of Azusa. Limited number of FHU sites.
