Campground(s) near Bartlett, Illinois

Hello,

We are searching for a campground (or campgrounds) near Bartlett, Illinois, which is a suburb in the Western Chicagoland metro area. We have a 32 ft. Forest River Sunseeker motorhome and a vehicle. Need a camping site with 30 amp and water and sewer if at all possible. Looking at staying for 3-4 weeks. Will be making daily treks into Bartlett, so ideally, the campground would be no more than 30 minutes from Bartlett. DW has been searching in vain for a campground other than forest preserves, which are too restrictive. Would appreciate any and all suggestions.

Thank you.

Tough spot for finding camping. We have a cousin in Bartlett and she has to get special permission for us to stay overnight in her driveway.

There's a Chicago NW KOA that is about 38 minutes away.

Thanks so much RVThere for your reply. Indeed, finding a campground near Bartlett has mostly been an exercise in frustration. We are needed to help care for our three grandkids while our daughter is convalescing at home. Our Son-In-Law returns to work next week and we wanted to have our motorhome nearby so DW and I could have a change of scenery every few days. Also are hoping the grandkids might want to spend some time with us camping in the motorhome.

the Paul Wolfe CG is close but has a 14-day limit. and sites Re W/E only. your best bet is to look farther west along I-90.

Thanks RK911. We will be taking a look at the Paul Wolfe campground, along with several others you listed. Just doesn't look as though we're going to be able to easily run back and forth from our daughter's house in Bartlett to our motorhome. Those CG locations you found (along I90} are good to keep in mind, especially for any future visits.

Consider either purchasing a campground directory (we like Good Sam) or an app such as 'rvparky' to help you find campgrounds. In my mind they are even more important than duct tape and channel locks to any rv'r.
Best of luck with your travels and see you down the road!

I know thereís a campground in Sycamore Illinois itís a bit of a hike to Bartlett but I think they have longer-term stays. Also there is Big rock campground itís in big rock Illinois and I believe itís run by the forest preserve but itís a nice campground.
Good luck

Just remembered that there is a Forest preserve Campground in Elgin Illinois which is fairly close to Bartlett. Might want to Google it and see if itís available where the service is needed. Again good luck

I live in the area. As others have said, options are VERY limited.

Paul Wolfe is very nice, but I believe it's first come, first served, and there is a two week limit. That said, it's probably the closest option. There just aren't many campgrounds in the area, unfortunately.

We have friends in Sycamore. They tell us the one there is not very nice at all.

There are a couple off I-90 near Belvidere, but again, not very nice - open, shadeless field with rigs close together and lots of seasonals. Pretty far, too.

Fish Lake Beach near Fox Lake is pretty nice. But it's a bit of haul to Bartlett; maybe 45 minute drive.

A bit farther North is Chain O' Lakes State Park. I don't think they have many electric sites, and no water or sewer at the sites. It's 20 minutes farther from Bartlett than Fish Lake Beach, and absolutely LOUSY with drunken revelers on weekends and holidays. (The public boat launch there, however, is an absolutely hilarious disaster to watch, though.)

Rock Cut State Park near Rockford has some beautiful electric-only sites, but these days you need reservations far in advance, and it's well over an hour to Bartlett.
