Campgrounds along US-2 & I-94

This summer we plan to travel from the Mackinaw Bridge, MI, along US-2 to the Duluth, MN area. Then across I-94 to Belfield, ND and then south to Colorado. Do any of you have any recommended camping spots along that route?

We plan to play around the Belfield/Dickinson area for a few days.

You are going to end up real close to the Painted Canyon and T Roosevelt NP near Medora. The CG in the NP has some nice sized sites with no hookups, $5 with Golden Age pass. The NP is well worth a two day stay, we spent 6. Lots of other CG's around, but too pricey for us.
