Campgrounds in Santa Fe, NM?

Hi folks,
We've done a bit of research on campgrounds in Santa Fe, NM. We've decided that Santa Fe Skies Campground sounds good, but it's a little pricey. Has anyone else stayed close to Santa Fe in a campground you can recommend?

...probably others in near town but Santa Fe Skies is a bit south of town and has a wonderful view of the Rio Grande valley and the mountains to the west. Nice park, well maintained, worth the price......

From the looks of the parks in person, Santa Fe Skies is the best. We stayed at Cochiti Lake Corp of Engineers park and drove in to do things in Santa Fe.

We used Trailer Park Ranch, in town but was very pleased with the campground, also a very nice staff.

Staying at Cochiti Lake some of the sites have electric and water. Santa Fe really isn't very big. We parked our car at a large lot by the Farmer's Market and picked up the city bus for touring. It's super easy to do and the gate person at Cochiti explained it all to us. The bus goes to all the main attractions and is very reasonable. Parking in Santa Fe is not easy. The bus worked well.

We stayed at Rancheros De Santa Fe Campground. It on the old Las Vegas hwy, just sw of Santa Fe at US285 an I25. Really enjoyed but it’s a short drive to SF.

At 41’ I think you will enjoy the pull throughs and the openness of SFSkys. Rent for a month and leave when you want. Lots to see and do. Out of town and quiet, good WiFi ,great store and laundry.

FYI. Spring winds can be pretty strong. Santa Fe Skies is out in the open. Trailer ranch is more protected.

I really liked Santa Fe Skies when we passed through last year. They wedged me into a pretty tight spot but the campground was very, very nice.

We (Mrs Freqz, the boys, and I) enjoyed the art and the antique tractors/equipment laying around.

We've looked at them all and Santa Fe Skies is the best. We've stayed there probably a dozen times and love the location, the facilities and the view from there.

You'll find it's where all the "big rigs" go and for good reason. The other parks mentioned are more mobile home parks. Some with actual mobile homes or with a large number of full-time residents.

At first it might seem odd that the sites are all gravel/dirt. But honestly, that's the Santa Fe way. It's high altitude desert and you can find multi-million dollar homes on dirt roads all around the area.
