Coopers Rock is beautiful. Never stayed there but sure visited there a bunch. My family is from Morgantown. Another place to check out is Canaan Valley. Better known for winter sports but a very scenic part of the state.

Beckley exhibition coal mine. They have a campground on to of the hill. 30 amp full hookup. It is a small campground. About 18 spots. Exhibits and tour are great. Be aware that some of the spots are tight and the hill is steep to get into. Beckley is a cool town.

Lots! My fav is Briar Point @Stonewall. Pegasus Farm, Flatwoods (now a KOA), Canaan Valley, Camp Creek & Fox Fire (now a KOA) are all ones we've been to I'd recommend.

Just east of Elkins, WV is Stuart Recreation Area. Federal area, so Golden Access pass works! Electric only sites, but plenty of water spigots around, and dump station. Free showers. No OTA TV signal. Verizon OK IIRC. Quiet spot to stay. Spent 4 nights here last fall.

WV State Parks are very well maintained. Do you have a particular area in mind?

We stayed at the Amry Corp of Engineers Park Battle Run. You should check out New River Gorge in Lansing WV on highway 19. Awesome!!!

I'll second that one. Here are a few pics of Blackwater Falls State Park, Canaan Valley State Park and the Dolly Sod's Natural area
