Campgrounds near Central Florida

Hi Everyone,
Looking to take the 30' Winnie Minnie to central Florida area. Any recommendations on parks with full hook-ups would be appreciated. Would prefer state parks if FHU.

Good luck with finding space at state parks. You usually have to book 11 months in advance for those, and even then it's difficult.

Haven't been there for a couple of years but we really liked the Bee's Resort on Rte 27 south of Leesburg - just south of the I-4 toll road.

There are 2 others right there.

Nice drive to Orlando and area.

Drive Safe and enjoy - Richard

Get a Thousand Trails Zone pass and consider adding the Trails Collection. Some are only 55+, but still enough if under 55 to make it worthwhile.

Spend some time on google maps, search for county parks also. We found Edward Medard Conservation Park in Plant City, $24 a night. You need to REALLY search, but it can be done. We found using a phone on maps and a computer to research details to be the fastest. But treat it like a treasure hunt, and be patient. We bike rail trails all over and finding the closest, cheap place to camp is always fun.

Try Salt Springs Recreation Area in Ocala NF nice large sites with hookups.
We used a Verizon hot spot to work there for two weeks this winter.

Thanks everyone for all the great suggestions. We were able to reserve a night at Salt Springs in the Ocala Forest. Once there we will try to get one of the many first come first serve sites they have to stay for two weeks total. Looking forward to getting back to nature.

Salt Springs Recreation Area is set up more like a commercial CG than a principle CG
Sites are tighter than you may want and some are too short for bigger units.
The springs make up for most of that as you are allowed to swim. They check for gators to make sure that one didn't slip the fence. Small boats and kayaks are available for rental.
It's 30 miles to Ocala, and 25 miles to Palatka so bring most of what you need.

There are two grocery stores within walking distance and an Ace Hardware. As for The size of site if you are not able to back into these site please give up your RV Licence.

Salt Springs is a beautiful campground and extremely popular. The sites have a lot of space and we were able to easily get our 40' MH into it.
