Camping for Traverse City & Petoskey Mi.
What are some of the nicest campground resorts in the Traverse City and Petoskey areas. Might even stay near Mackinaw City. Need advice on must see attractions in this area also, Thanks for the help

Traverse Bay RV Resort & Lake Leelanau RV Park are 2 that are nice.
We're gonna be at Indigo Bluffs in a couple weeks. Can't wait. I know we'll make a day trip to Macinac Island. Got to go see the Grand Hotel (the movie Somewhere In Time is one of my fav's).

Hearthside Grove in Petoskey is a luxury RV resort and might be one of the nicest resorts in the country. Traverse Bay RV Resort is a close second. As for things to do, Traverse City, Harbor Springs, and Petoskey are all nice towns to roam around on the Lake Michigan side. If you golf, northern Michigan is rated one of the best. Sleeping Bear Dunes is worth a visit. But, if your are visiting Northern Michigan, Mackinaw Island is a MUST see. Yes great movie, somewhere in time! but the Island has a lot to offer. Rent or bring bikes and you can see more of the island ! You can see we love it there. Enjoy !

We're headed for Hearthside Grove after we leave Indigo Bluffs. I think we're in for a treat with either of these resorts.

Stayed at Macinaw Mill Creek c.g. last year. Nothing fancy at all, but the sites near the water have a GREAT view of the bridge and the island. Downfall is that these sites are tiny, but for us the location more than made up for being squeezed in.

x2 on Traverse Bay RV Resort and Hearthside. Another possibility near Petoskey is Signature Motorcoach at Bay Harbor. Indigo Bluffs is more off the beaten path so will be quieter but is nearer the Sleeping Bear sand dunes. In addition to the other suggestions we enjoyed visiting Charleviox, which is between Traverse City and Petoskey. Mackinac Island is a definite must see and be sure to give yourself enough time. There is a lot to see and do.

We stayed last week in Mesick at Northern Exposure Campground/RV & Recreation Park while visiting friends. $25 a night was nice during the week, they have a American Legion close by with nice specials open to public. I use to live in Cadillac in the late 70's. We had camped earlier at my brothers in Gould City area UP and drove the Tunnel of Pines which is a one lane road along Lake Michigan, it took almost 2 hours to get to Traverse City. In the past we loved Lake Lelaneau, Sleeping Bear Dunes and Platte River area, I miss the area but not the snow and cold, SC much nicer in winter but right now wish I was Up North.
