Twin shores campground is fairly well appointed. We were just there for a week and took full advantage. The beach is fantastic there, a couple decent places to eat close by: Malpeque Oyster Barn is fantastic. You can also buy seafood 5 minutes away off a dock in Darnley Basin.
It’s also an easy drive to the Cavendish area if you want to do some touristy stuff. I’d book a spot on the bay side and bring a kite. Lol
Red point provincial park is also beautiful, though no real amenities - but there’s a great little food truck close by called Red Neil’s Eatery.
You really can’t go wrong with any of their provincial parks. The KOA by Charlottetown is also good if you can get a waterfront site, though bring some blocks to level. That puts you close to the city and you got access to some good spots there, like Hoya, if you like Japanese food.

We stayed a week at Marco Polo in Cavendish earlier this month. It is a very big campground with lots of stuff for kids to do - jumping bags, playgrounds, water park, petting zoo, ice cream shop, etc, etc. It has some tight turns, but not too bad. Because of all the kids activities, it is full of families and there are bunches of kids to watch out for while driving through the campground.
We liked it there. It is 25-30 miles from Charlottetown, but right in the middle of all the Cavendish stuff (Green Gables centric).
They don't charge anything to take the Confederation Bridge onto the island. But to get off the island, it is $67.50 (cdn) for a coach (with no tag axle) with a toad. They charge by the axle.
Regards.

We have stayed at Bayside RV campground a couple of times and loved it. Very quiet and located conveniently for exploring. It was also the last campground we could find open one year, they roll up the sidewalks early in that area. If you go there a meal or two at the Blue Mussel Café is mandatory if you like seafood. Not a lot to do in the campground, but we were there to explore the Island, not sit in a park, so it was great for us, no kids along. The management couldn't be nicer. Enjoy.

CANADA RV Traveling
Question - We have AAA tow truck insurance but what can we do if we need assistance in Canada while traveling there?

KasbahKelly-
My wife and I enjoyed staying at Red Point Provincial Park (link here). The view from the upper row was nice; all the sites were grass (at least the last time we stayed there, in 2018). It can be windy there.
The east end of PEI has its own rhythm and charm- less developed than the middle of the island (e.g., near Cavendish).
We enjoyed several nice meals, but none stood out enough to remember by name, so I can't help there. We did attend a pleasant bluegrass festival.
Note: If you tend to drive country roads slowly, keep an eye in the mirror for the islanders, and pull over/off as needed.

After Labor Day , the number of kids around will drop , but that also signals the end of the camping season along the east coast , expect many parks to be at reduced services and some to be closed completely .
