Headed to Blue Water Key next week. Looking forward to a week in the Conch Republic. Was on the wife's bucket list as well, told her why wait.

Looks great! The Keys are also on my bucket list.
How about a few more details, like how far ahead did you have to make your reservations?

I booked Sunshine Key for Dec. 2019 in Dec. 2018.
State parks have a 6 month booking window. Pick a site at 7:45 AM, 6 months before you want it. Wait until 8:AM and hit book. By 8:05 they are usually gone.

I just got home from John Pennekamp in Key Largo early this afternoon. It was my 108th time going there. Never kept track of the number of nights I've spent there.
The booking window for Florida state parks is 11 months.

Take lots of cash, private RV parks can run $100/night in the Keys.

Yup, that's right, FL. State parks are 11 months. The Fed parks are 6 months.

Beautiful, we are planning on going down to the Keys next March. I need to hammer down the dates and get a reservation somewhere. We will only have time to spend a few days there, so not too big a hit to the wallet.

You shouldn’t have any trouble finding private parks April through September. We’ve never had a problem with last minute reservations during that time.
