Camping near north phoenix
I'm starting to plan a quick trip to North Side of Phoenix (Anthem area) the middle of May. Grandson graduation. Suggestions for place to park the trailer? I've got 2 small dogs so something with areas to walk them would be important. Thanks in advance.

There are a couple of places near where you are planning. Just keep in mind it will be getting hot in Phoenix that time of year.
If you are open to other areas, you may be able to find more chances for staying. When we go to the Phoenix area, we stay in Goodyear at Cotton Lane RV Resort. Cotton Lane is right at the end of the 303 and the north end of the 303 ends on I-17, a few miles below Anthem.

Cave Creek Regional Park is your place! Beautiful scenery, big sites, trails. In May you won't have an issue getting a site. All the Maracopa Co Parks are awesome!!

Thanks to all for the suggestions. I've been investigating the county parks and wasn't certain which would work better. I'll look closer to Cave Creek, it sounds interesting. I was scheduled to stay at Lake Pleasant a couple of years ago, but the MH broke down in New Mexico and I didn't make it. I've been looking at a couple of camp grounds around there also. My youngest son used to live in Goodyear, still reasonably close. I will check out Cotton Lane also. I guess the thing which catches me by surprise is it probably being near 100 by that time. It is currently 14 degrees here in Ks, 100 sure sounds drastic
Again my thanks for the kind replies

No..it WILL BE 100+ deg in May. June is our worst month, 115+ degrees, may ramps upto that
Sure it may only be 97, and may be 105
But remember, it's a dry heat...lol.. humidity is low, like 20% or less, till July when Monsoons roll in
I'd plan for a full service Campground, well at least have power
Of course May 1st vs May 29th can be way different in max Temp, but do t think it's gunna be 89 deg every day, cuz it won't be

I have pulled my trailer to Spring Training 3 times, going for another trip at the end of March. We love Lake Pleasant, but have also camped other spots without hookups. Last year the generator wouldn't power our AC, with 95 degree temps at Lake Mohave, we got by just fine with our MaxAire fans, 2 set to exhaust and the one over the bed pulling in fresh air.

Looking at what is there, we really like the space in Cave Creek. My question is does it have electricity at least for the AC. My KZ isn't set up well for dry camping. The wife wouldn't let the dogs not have their AC also. They are old and pampered. If they were to die from heat down there, it would be a very LLOOOOOONNNGG drive back home.

Cave Creek has water and electric hookups and a dump station. Lake Pleasant is also another regional park (as opposed to the privately-owned RV park) with Maricopa County. We've stayed at both during summer months (helping daughter who lives there) and it's doable - definitely not a sought-out choice in the summer but when kids are involved you do what you have to do! Keeping window coverings closed during the day helps.
After the wedding high-tail it up to Flagstaff, AZ or Payson, Show Low, Pinetop for really 'cool' Arizona summer weather!
Here is info about Lake Pleasant's campground.
