Camping outside Dallas

I'm going to be traveling from Nashville to San Marcos in November and will be stopping outside Dallas for a night Any ideas on where to stay would be appreciated.

Check out the Vineyards in Grapevine TX

We own a home in the DFW area, been to many of the CG's in the metro area. I would highly recommend you look at The Vineyards Camp Ground in Grapevine TX. Grapevine Resort | The Vineyards Campground and Cabins

We will be back there in Nov and plan to stay again.

I don't know which route you are taking, but I spent the night this summer at a nice little Texas State park NW of the Dallas metroplex, it was Bonham State park, they have about a dozen RV sites, all but one are back in, with water and electric only, price was under $25.

From Nashville you will be coming in via I30 or I20.
I30 there is a KOA in Cado Mills. Not fancy but has lots of pull through sites 30/50 amp water sewer, pool nice folks. $35-40 a night.
If I20... The campground everyone raves about is Mill Creek Ranch Resort. Nice Don't know why raves about it so much. Spent a weekend there and it was nice but didn't understand the "rage" over it. Be warned if its "First Monday" (first weekend of the month) keep on moving they raise their rates for that weekend and will most likely be booked. IT's a --H U G H-- FleaMarket site for Dallas.
There are others but we've been to those two and both are good sites and they are on your way to San Marcos.

Staying in Lockhart SP near San Marcos in late October. Heading to The Vineyards for a week for Nascar. Lots of good recommendations and reviews for "The Vineyards" in Grapevine.

I'm not aware of any better alternatives along your prospective drive route than Vineyards in Grapevine, but what a beating it will be to drive through the metro area to get there.

If you're just looking for a one night stop close to the highway, then maybe Plantation Place is worth considering. Have not stayed there, but driven by it and it seemed just fine. Plantation Place RV Park | RV Park In Dallas, TX | Close Enough...Yet Away from is All

Check out Bluebonnet Ridge near Terrell on I20 (west of Canton). It's very nice and we stay there at least one month sometimes two every year.
