Camping Reservation & Deposit?

Is it normal for campsite resorts (in general) to take reservation only via mailed checks this time of year.... It pretty close to fall here. Thanks a Bunch!

In general, yes. If the campground accepts mailed reservations with out of state personal checks, they will take the reservation. Check on refund policy if you cancel reservation. Campgrounds that don't take mail reservations paid by personal check won't. You could call ahead before mailing reservation and see if they'll accept personal check to hold a spot. Don't know what region you are talking about, but many areas have year round camping and any place should be happy to take a reservation if they are open and take mail reservations paid by check. I hope this was general enough.

the campground is located east Pa region. Its funny, all summer long I made reservation by CC or online booking, the check in the mail kinda threw me off. Yhanks Blinn.

Although we seldom make reservations, but if/when we do it is only by phone and we only pay with a credit card.
If a campground/park refuses to accept that, we refuse to accept them, (any time of the year).

My observation is it is normal for a CG owner to do almost anything, check, CC, cash only, etc. CGs are owned by a diverse group from big corporate entities to individual single owners...small size to very large. We stayed at an old established very large privately owned CG in Bar Harbor ME that does not take reservations at all. Another of our favorites takes your reservation on your name and your word. Others require a call to an 800 # secured with a major credit card.

Maybe the CG you are dealing with changed ownership or corp affiliation between now and your last visit there.

We just booked a 3 month stay in Florida. They don't take credit cards. Had to mail them a check for the last month's rent. We'll have to pay 1st month when we arrive and the 2nd month at the end of the 1st month. There, have I got you confused? I live in the state of Confusion USA?
